Quality Awards And Accreditations
We hold ourselves to a higher standard and that is why we are nationally accredited by DNV GL – Healthcare. This elite accreditation means that our hospital meets or exceeds patient safety standards (Conditions of Participation) set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
DNV GL’s hospital accreditation program, called NIAHO (National Integrated Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), involves annual hospital surveys – other surveys are only every three years – and encourages hospitals to openly share information across departments and to discover improvements in clinical workflows and safety protocols.
DNV GL NIAHO standards integrate requirements based on the CMS Conditions of Participation (CoPs) with the internationally recognized ISO 9001 Standard for the formation and implementation of the Quality Management System which is used by performance-driven organizations around the world to advance their quality and sustainability objectives.
With our specialty focus on orthopedics, neurosurgery, and pain management, Optim Medical Center-Tattnall is a uniquely attractive option in the region for patients in need of orthopedic surgery and interventional pain procedures. Surgical patients can generally expect less exposure to possible viruses and community-acquired illnesses due to our surgical focus on musculoskeletal care and elective surgeries and procedures rather than the populations of patients generally served at larger acute care hospitals.
Not only is Optim Medical Center-Tattnall a DNV GL Accredited facility, but we are currently the ONLY hospital in the state of Georgia that has received DNV GL’s Orthopaedic Center of Excellence. The Orthopaedic Center of Excellence designation is obtained by achieving certification at least three (3) orthopaedic service line programs. Optim Medical Center-Tattnall holds DNV GL certifications in our:
-
- Hip and Knee Replacement Program
- Spine Surgery Program
- Shoulder Surgery Program
