Ogeechee Technical College Foundation announced the appointment of Lagina Evans (Chief Executive Officer of Optim Medical Center-Screven), Ken Austin (Market President for the Queensborough National Bank and Trust Sylvania Team), and John Scott (General Manager and CEO of Bulloch Solutions)to the local board of trustees.
“The connection between the Ogeechee Technical College Foundation and our local community continues to grow stronger with our recent appointees,” said Michelle Davis, VP for College Advancement. “Ken, Lagina, and John all bring unique connections and perspectives to our board and I look forward to their contributions for years to come.”
Ogeechee Technical College was established as a two-year technical school by the Georgia General Assembly in 1986 and began offering Practical Nursing courses. Over the years the school has continued to add programs to serve the employment needs of the three counties it serves: Bulloch, Evans and Screven. Optim Health System has enjoyed a long relationship with the school. Optim partners with the school to place licensed practical nursing and radiology students for hands-on experience before graduating and offers an excellent pipeline of skilled healthcare professionals.
Lagina Evans
Evans is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia, with a BSN in Nursing. Prior to accepting the position of CEO of Optim Medical Center-Screven, Evans served as the Chief Nursing Officer of the facility. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the hospital in 1979 before going off to college and coming back home.
