BIOGRAPHY
Juan Alonso, MS, ATC, LAT, is the athletic trainer at Appling County High School in Baxley, GA.
At Appling County High School, Juan provides coverage for all athletics. Juan works closely with the student athletes in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries. He also works closely with the coaches to ensure that athlete safety and health are top priority.
He started with Optim Sports Medicine in July 2017. Previously, Juan served as the athletic trainer from 2015-2017 at Turner County High School in Ashburn, Ga, as part of Vereen Rehabilitation Center. Juan was also a summer intern for the San Diego Chargers in 2014.
Juan received his Masters of Science in Physical Education with emphasis in Exercise Science through the University of North Georgia in May 2017. He received his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training in May 2015 at Georgia Southern University.
During his time at Georgia Southern, Juan’s rotations included GSU Football, GSU Recreational Activity Center (RAC), GSU Men’s Basketball, Screven Co. High School, and GSU Softball.
Juan has been certified since 2015. He is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association (SEAT), and Georgia Athletic Trainers’ Association (GATA).
