National Radiologic Technology Week is an annual celebration to recognize the vital work of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in patient care and health care safety. The week-long celebration takes place during the week of November 8th to commemmorate the discovery of the x-ray by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on November 8, 1895.
Radiologic technologists, often referred to as rad techs, are highly trained healthcare professionals who specialize in diagnostic imaging. They operate advanced imaging equipment such as x-ray machines, CT scanners, and MRI machines, to capture detailed images of the human body. These images are essential for diagnosing injuries, diseases and other medical conditions.
