[SYLVANIA, GA – April 14, 2025] Optim Medical Center-Screven is excited to announce that Mylissa Gregory, Staff Hospitalist, was named the recipient of Ogeechee Technical College’s 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award. The award was presented during the 2nd annual “We Are OTC” event, held on April 3 at The Market at Visit Statesboro.
The Outstanding Alumni Awards recognize Ogeechee Technical College(OTC) graduates who exemplify success and serve as role models in their respective fields. The ceremony, part of the community-wide event, celebrated alumni in two categories: Recent and Distinguished, with one awardee selected in each. Nominees are eligible for consideration for three consecutive years.
Gregory, a 2011 graduate of OTC’s Radiologic Technology Program, has built a distinguished career in healthcare. She holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and is a licensed and registered Physician Assistant in Georgia. Additionally, she has earned multiple certifications from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). As a Staff Hospitalist at Optim Medical Center-Screven, Gregory plays a key role in providing excellent patient care.
During the ceremony, Gregory shared her gratitude and spoke about how her experience at OTC helped shape her career. “I knew from my very first conversation with Matt Dunn that OTC was for me,” Gregory recalled with emotion. “He helped me navigate a busy schedule so that I could pursue my dreams in healthcare.”
In addition to her clinical expertise, Gregory is deeply committed to mentoring and supporting students in the Radiology and Physician Assistant programs. She actively shares her knowledge and experience, helping to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals. Gregory and her husband have also pledged to fund two scholarships at OTC to support aspiring students in their healthcare journeys.

The Distinguished Alumni Award honors individuals who graduated from Ogeechee Technical College in 2015 or earlier, achieving success and making a significant impact in their field on a local, regional, or state level. Gregory’s outstanding contributions to healthcare and education reflect the values of Ogeechee Technical College, and Optim Medical Center-Screven is proud to celebrate her achievements.
