OPTIM HEALTH SYSTEM HONORS DAISY AND BEE AWARD RECIPIENTS ACROSS THE SYSTEM
Five team members recognized for extraordinary compassion, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care
Optim Health System is proud to announce its most recent DAISY and BEE Award recipients, honoring outstanding team members across multiple facilities for the exceptional care they provide to patients and families every day.
The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that celebrates the clinical skill and compassion of nurses. The BEE Award honors non-nursing team members who go beyond exceptional expectations in supporting patients, families, and the care team around them. Both awards are driven by nominations submitted by the patients and families who experience that care firsthand.
This month, Optim Health System is proud to recognize five individuals across four facilities.
Optim Medical Center-Tattnall, Reidsville
Haylie Introcasto, LPN is the recipient of the March DAISY Award at Optim Medical Center-Tattnall. When a patient arrived for a total knee replacement, her family hoped for good care. What they found was something more. Haylie greeted her patient with warmth, noticed details others might have missed, and made every interaction feel personal and unhurried. She took time to listen, answer questions, and treat her patient as a person, not just a case. Her compassion and professionalism helped make a difficult recovery a much more positive experience.

Chiquita Stevens is the recipient of the March BEE Award at Optim Medical Center-Tattnall. When a patient arrived after being transferred from another facility without personal toiletries, Chiquita stepped in. She assembled a thoughtful kit of essentials and later offered encouraging words when the patient was feeling down. As the patient shared, it was the kind of care that does not come from a vial, IV, or vital sign check, but from a truly caring heart.

Optim Medical Center-Screven, Sylvania
Dakota Lee, RN is the recipient of the March DAISY Award at Optim Medical Center-Screven. After bringing her mother to the emergency room following a fall, one family member found comfort in the steady, compassionate care Dakota provided. Patient and attentive throughout, Dakota learned that her patient loved to read but did not have a book with her. She returned with magazines that brought a smile to the patient’s face. As the family shared, that small act of kindness was priceless.

Optim Pain Management, Savannah
Shunda King, front desk representative, is the recipient of the March BEE Award at Optim Pain Management on Stephenson Avenue in Savannah. Shunda was nominated by the family member of a long-term patient, who recognized her for the warmth and positivity she brings to every visit, her professionalism, her patience in helping navigate insurance and payment questions, and the genuine kindness she extends to patients managing some of the most difficult days of their lives. As her nominator shared, “Each and every time, she does not fail to make us smile. Ms. King has such a beautiful and positive personality — it’s infectious and so, so lovely to be greeted with when having to come to such emotionally draining appointments.”

Premier Surgery Center, Brunswick
Stacey Breon, RN is the recipient of the March DAISY Award at Premier Surgery Center. The award recognized Stacey for the calm, professional, and compassionate presence she brought to a patient preparing for a procedure. As her nominator shared, “Stacey was absolutely wonderful in answering all my questions as I was prepped for a cortisone shot. She was a calming influence. Stacey was professional, efficient, patient and sweet.”

Optim Health System extends its congratulations to Haylie, Chiquita, Dakota, Shunda, and Stacey. Their dedication reflects the values that guide care across the Optim system every day.
