At Optim Health System, we recognize that exceptional care goes beyond just clinical expertise. It’s the compassion, dedication, and teamwork that accompany each patient interaction that truly make a difference. Our DAISY Award and BEE Award programs celebrate those individuals who go above and beyond to make a lasting impact on the lives of our patients and their families.
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses®
The DAISY Award is a prestigious international recognition that honors nurses who provide exceptional care and compassion to their patients. It was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, whose family wanted to publicly thank the nurses who cared for him during his illness. The DAISY Award recognizes nurses who demonstrate:
- Compassionate care: Listening to patient and family concerns with kindness and empathy.
- Building trust: Establishing strong relationships with patients and families through thoughtful communication.
- Exceptional service: Going above and beyond to make patients feel comfortable and supported.
- Impact: Making a significant, positive difference in the life of a patient.
If you know a nurse at Optim Health System whose care you will never forget, share your story and nominate them for the DAISY Award.
Nominate a Nurse
Nurses may be nominated by patients, families, and colleagues. Nominations are accepted year-round. The selected nurse will be recognized at one of our recognition events.
The BEE Award for Non-Nursing Staff
At Optim Health System, we know that exceptional care isn’t only about the nurses. Our BEE Award celebrates the outstanding contributions made by non-nursing staff members, such as those in environmental services, food services, administration, lab technicians, and other vital roles. Much like bees support daisies in nature, our non-nursing staff plays an essential role in delivering exceptional care.
The BEE Award recognizes staff members who embody the following PETAL principles:
- Professionalism: Upholding high standards of service and conduct.
- Empathy: Demonstrating compassion and understanding for others.
- Teamwork: Collaborating effectively to achieve patient-centered outcomes.
- Accountability: Taking responsibility and ensuring excellence in all aspects of their work.
- Leadership: Inspiring others with dedication and care.
If a non-nursing staff member has gone above and beyond in their role, we encourage you to nominate them for the BEE Award.
Nominate a Non-Nursing Staff Member
Non-nursing staff members may be nominated by patients, families and colleagues. Nominations for the BEE Award are accepted year-round, and the award will be presented at our recognition events.
